Book My Favorites

| Waiting for the newest Tom Clancy,
Patricia Cornwell or John Grisham? Then sign up for Book my Favorites,
the library's new automatic reserve service for hardcover fiction. Check up
to 15 of your favorite authors from a list on our brochure and we'll
notify you when their latest title comes in. This service is available to
all patrons with a current library card and brochures are available at the
front desk.

The Michigan Room specializes in providing genealogical and local history materials. These include family genealogies; birth, death, obituary, cemetery and war records; genealogical research materials; and village, city, township, and county records. |

e-Books |
||||
| Three Rivers Public Library patrons now have access to a collection of 11,000 electronic books, or e-books, funded by the Access Michigan project at the Library of Michigan. The Michigan Electronic Library (MEL) provides the gateway to the ebook service. The MEL ebooks is a statewide collection available to all types of libraries and their users at no charge. The collection contains classics in literature and history, plus books on computers, careers, law, countries and cultures, homework aids, general reference, internet and commerce, literary criticism, mathematics, nursing, self help, sports, statistics, and business. Patrons can stop by the library to create an account which will allow access to the collection from any computer that connects to the Internet whether in the library or at home.

Homebound Delivery Program |

| Homebound delivery of library material is available for Three Rivers Public Library patrons who are unable to physically transport themselves to the library because of physical disability or long-term illness. Who qualifies for service? Card holding Three Rivers Public Library patrons who cannot come to the library because of physical or long-term illness are eligible for service. People who live within the library's service area of the city of Three Rivers, Fabius Township, Lockport Township, or Park Township may register for a library card at no charge. Persons who live outside of the library's service area may purchase a card for thirty dollars per year per household. How much does the service cost the library patron? There is no charge to the library patron for delivery; however, those served are subject to any applicable late fines or replacement costs just like other library patrons. Who delivers library items to the home? After a request is received, the Cataloging and Acquisitions librarian will make the first visit to the home to clarify needs and preferences of the requesting patron. After that initial visit, an assigned volunteer or staff member will deliver library materials. The library patron and delivery person will determine delivery times and dates to suit the convenience of both parties. How does a person begin service or get more information? Reading Assistance |

| LEARN TO READ FOR FREE: Do you know an adult who wants to learn to read, to read better, or to read English as a second language? The library will help get the person started with tutoring through the St. Joseph Literacy Council who will match the adult student with a trained adult tutor. For information call the library at 273-8666 or stop in and talk with Jennifer. Become a tutor with the St. Joseph County Literacy
Council. The training is free and can be done independently to fit
your personal schedule. Tutors are needed from all cities and
townships within

Learn a Test |
||||
| Learn-A-Test can be accessed through the Library of Michigan Web site at www.mel.org on your home computer or at the Three Rivers Public Library. Practice tests available include: postal worker, federal clerical, advanced placements, GED preparation, armed services, law enforcement, ACT, SAT, GRE, EMS, ESL, basic skills, and fourth-grade skills among others. |
