STORYTIME!

Storytime is held every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers are welcome to join us for books, songs, stories, and a craft.

Each session also helps develop early literacy skills, which is what children know about reading and writing before they actually learn to read and write.

EARLY LITERACY SKILLS INCLUDE:

Letter Knowledge: each letter has a name and a sound

Phonological Awareness: sounds make up words

Vocabulary: words identify things

Print Awareness: words are read from left to right, and words tell a story

Print Motivation: the belief that books and reading are fun

Narrative Skills: the ability to describe things and tell stories.
