Programs for Little Ones
Tuesdays at 11am
Ages 0 to 2 years old
Little ones and their caregivers are invited to read, sing, move, play, and have fun! The program is designed specifically with little learners in mind.
Tuesdays at 10am
Ages 2 to 5 years old
Storytime for preschoolers and their caregivers! Books, songs, stories, movement, and fun come together for a super-charged half hour of Early Literacy learning.
Move & Groove
Wednesdays at 10am, twice a month
January 16th and 30th, February 13th and 27th, March 13th and 27th, April 10th and 24th, and May 8th
Best for 18 months and up
Get ready to boogie during this fun musical program! We’ll have shaky eggs, scarves, drumsticks, bubbles, and more as we dance, move, and learn together.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten Party
Saturday, May 11th at 11am
Are you already part of the 1000 Books program? Would you like to be? Have you finished already? Are you in the middle of it? All are welcome to this celebration of the program with a special story-time and fun crafts and activities. Let’s get reading!
Programs for Elementary School Kids (Grades K-5)
Wednesdays at 4pm starting January 16th
Using our materials and your creativity you can make amazing things!
January 16th: Perler Bead Magnets; Lots of small beads make a unique magnet for your fridge, locker, or other metallic surface. This craft requires patience!
April 17th: Egg Decorating: Come make a festive egg or two with our egg dye (and other less messy alternatives). Lots of different techniques available as well as a few eggs per participant. Feel free to bring more hardboiled eggs from home, though, in case you get inspired!
Captain Underpants and Dog Man Party
Thursday, March 21st at 4pm
Tra-la-laaaaaaaaa! There’s no super-hero quite like Captain Underpants! Except for maybe Dog Man! Crafts, games, and fun activities will all be part of the celebration of these unusual heroes.
Tuesday April 2nd and Wednesday April 3rd at 2pm
This is a two day project!
Make your own piñata with balloons and papier maché. The only thing you’ll need is the courage to put your hand in the papier maché goop and the creative vision to make something colorful and amazing.
Build Our Town
Thursday, April 18th at 4pm
Celebrate being green and* make a replica of our town using recycled materials. What building will you choose to recreate? We’ll display the town for at the library for two weeks and then you can take your bit of Three Rivers home with you.
Programs for Older Kids (Ages 8-12)
Operation: ART! With Judson Stemaly
Once a month on Mondays at 4:30-6pm
Local art teacher, Judson Stemaly, is coming to the library to teach special art classes!
January 28th: Sculpture; Transform soap into a unique carving with simple tools and some patience.
Saturday, February 9th at 4-6pm THIS IS AN AFTER HOURS EVENT!
Grades 6 to 8
Bring your own NERF gun to participate in a massive NERF battle challenge after the library is closed. To register, please get a form from the front desk at the library.
Tuesday, March 5th at 4pm
Do you love fashion? This is your chance to design and create an outfit for a doll. Bring your creativity and your patience—all dolls and materials for outfits and accessories will be provided.
Nailed it! Cupcake Decorating
Saturday, March 16th at 11am
Think you can recreate fabulous cupcake designs? Well… maybe you can! (And maybe you can’t?) Learn some basic decorating techniques and give it your best shot. The fun is in the #fail. And the sugar.
Saturday, January 19th at 11am
Best for ages 4 to 8
Are you stealthy like a ninja? Have you mastered the art of throwing stars or wielding nunchucks? Come test your ninja skills and develop some new ones at our training camp!
Día de los Niños
April 30th from 10am to 5pm
Celebrate the day of the child with fun Latin-inspired crafts and games and a free book for every child. Drop by any time between 10am and 5pm to participate!
